latitude in the North Pacific Ocean. As the warm air arise from the surface of
water a less air is left and a low pressure area is develops known as the LPA (Low
Pressure Area). This Low Pressure Area pull in the air around it. As the air arise,
it warm ups and begin to rise. Clouds are begin to form as the air cools. If the
conditions are favorable, especially the temperature of the water, then the
system grows and eventually an eye of typhoon form. If the water temperature
drops below 79 degrees Fahrenheit, the storm will weaken. The typhoon will also
dissipate if it moves over land.
How does typhoon name get?
According to the World
Meteorological Organization (WMO), it is easier for people to remember names
than numbers and technical terms
Philippine Atmospheric,
Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released the
names it will use for typhoons that will enter the Philippine Area of
Responsibility (PAR) this 2017. The first tropical cyclone of every year starts
with the name beginning in letter A, following the English Alphabet. The state
weather bureau is currently using a 16-year, 4-column name list which it sorts
last year. Meaning, the names used in 2016 will also be used in the years 2020,
2024 and 2028.
